Ijebu North East Area CAN members drawn from ten (10) Churches paid a courtesy visit to the new Priest in Charge of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Atan. This historic visit took place on Thursday 14th November 2019 at Midday.

Their motive was to welcome the Priest on behalf of all Christians in Ijebu North East, intimate him of their programs and events, solicit cooperation and active participation, and to ask for continual support.

In his response, the Priest, Rev. Fr. Alfred-Matthew Nworie expressed his joy as he likened the visit to that of Mary to Elizabeth in Luke 1:39-56. In his words: “Mary heard the goodnews about Elizabeth and visited. You too heard of my appointment and have visited. Both Mary and Elizabeth were pregnant -All of us have been made “Custodians” of God’s words and traditions. So, like that encounter, may our meeting today stir the fires of love and the Holy Spirit in us. May our joys know no bounds.”

The visit ended with shared prayers and group photograph. Indeed, it was, at least for those moments, the prayer -“May they all be one…” (John 17:21) answered. Alleluia!
